Industry Ratios & Reports

Defining the Industry

A company’s industry affiliation is often defined by a government SIC or NAICS code.

Diversified companies do business in multiple industries or industry sectors. Some reports list a company’s primary industry (most income) and secondary industry (less income). Other resources and reports simply list all industry codes without distinction.

When identifying competitors for diversified companies, select competitors doing business in the specific market segment pertinent to your project.
