  • Literary Reference Center Plus (EBSCO): Full-text resources focusing on plays/drama, poetry, religious literature and children’s literature. 
  • Gale Literature: Full text of literary works, journal articles, literature criticism and analysis, reviews, author biographies, and expertly written work overviews.
  • Book Review Index Online (Full Text): Comprehensive source for book reviews from 1965 to the present and covers review published in nearly 500 periodicals and newspapers.
  • Literary Index: Use this to look up entries for Gale Reference books inside CUW Library.
  • Bloom’s Literary Criticism: Edited e-books on specific books, short stories, or authors.
  • JSTOR: Scholarly full-text multi-disciplinary database. Use the Language and Literature subject filter.
  • Ebook Central: Searchable collections of electronic books on a variety of subjects. Search for e-books on criticism of an author or work.
  • EbscoHost Ebooks: Search for ebooks on criticism of an author or work.

Children’s & YA Literature

  • Literary Reference Center Plus (EBSCO): Full-text resources focusing on plays/drama, poetry, religious literature and children’s literature. 
  • Gale Literature: Full text of literary works, journal articles, literature criticism and analysis, reviews, author biographies, and expertly written work overviews.
  • Literary Index: Use to look up entries of authors or titles in Gale Reference books. Then, search Primo for the book titles inside CUW library or via interlibrary loan.
  • Bloom’s Literary Criticism: Edited ebooks on high school/YA literature. At the top click Filter Options, and choose: grade 9-12.

Language & Linguistics

  • Linguistics Database (ProQuest): Covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
  • Research Library: Literature & Language (ProQuest): Scholarly and popular full-text database with subject coverage of English, American literature, world literatures, and linguistics.
