Bloom’s Literary Criticism More than 550 e-books from Bloom’s Literary Criticism series.

Book Review Index Online (Full Text) (Gale)  Book reviews from 1965 -present.

Linguistics Database (ProQuest) Covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics.

Literary Index (Gale) Master index to every literary series published by Gale. Search for Works and authors to find entries in CUW Library’s Print Reference Collection. 

Gale Literature

Search across all of your library’s Gale literary databases to find full text of literary works, journal articles, literature criticism and analysis, reviews, author biographies, and expertly written work summaries.

Literary Reference Center Plus (EBSCOhost) Literary Reference Center Plus includes full-text resources focusing on plays/drama, poetry, religious literature and children‘s literature. This database also includes volumes of fantasy/science fiction, contemporary literature, world philosophy and religious literature, and literary study guides covering American Literature, English Literature and literary genres.

Understanding Shakespeare (JSTOR) A tool that enables anyone to pick a play, click on a line, and instantly see articles on JSTOR that reference the text. All 38 of his plays included and navigation options to explore the plays by type: comedies, tragedies, histories, and romances.

General

Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost) Comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with full-text periodicals, including peer-reviewed journals. Indexing and abstracts for journals monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc.

Humanities International Complete (HIC) (EBSCOhost-provided by Badgerlink) Content: full text journals, books and other published sources from around the world. HIC includes all the data from American Humanities Index and Humanities International Index.

JSTOR 1,000+ full-text scholarly journals are articles on a wide variety of subjects.

Research Tips

    • criticism formats: Books, essays, journal articles,
    • Well know works, authors, and some characters will have their own subject terms. Look for links in item records.
    • In literature databases use the advanced search to search for title and author, and limit to literary criticism under “content type”
    • In Primo, use the advanced Search and include the author and title of the work plus the word criticism
